Setup walks you through your explanation language, AI service, voice and subscriptions. You can skip a step and finish it later. With subscriptions, Feeds comes first; otherwise, Library does. Change this in Me → Settings → Open on launch.

Double-tap a word for an inline meaning, then tap the meaning to open its card. Hold to select text for lookup, paragraph translation, a note or copying. In the top-right reading menu, Show lookup phonetics is on by default and Pronounce on lookup is off. English phonetics follow your American or British accent choice. Meanings appear first; phonetics arrive with the card. Automatic playback only uses voices that are ready.

Setup guides you through connecting your own service. Choose DeepSeek, OpenAI or a compatible provider, and enter your API key. Test the connection, then choose Connect and use. Your key is saved only on this device, never on Stillwhy servers. You can change the service later in Me → Settings → AI services. Basic reading and the prepared sample meanings work without AI. Your provider charges for model usage.

Unencrypted EPUB, PDF, TXT and Markdown are supported, along with some older MOBI files. Scanned PDFs retain their original layout; pages without a text layer cannot use lookup or translation. You can also attach .docx files in a conversation; paragraph and table text is read without Word layout.

Play pronunciation beside the original text in a card. Choose a voice and speed in Speech and pronunciation. Downloadable voices cover English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Korean; English offers American and British accents. Other languages use available device voices. While reading, tap Ask AI to open the conversation, or hold it to speak. Hold the microphone in a conversation and release to send; slide left before releasing to review the text, or up to cancel. Recognition and pronunciation run on device. Voice resources download on demand; existing downloads are reused and work offline.

Save looked-up expressions to Vocabulary at the end of a chapter, with collection dates and sources. Notes stay linked to their source. Export a complete backup or restore one in Me → Settings → Data and sync. Restore only adds missing records; it does not replace local content. Store backups safely: they include passages, notes and conversations.

Stillwhy servers do not store your reading data, notes, memories, skills, conversations or AI keys. Data stays on device. You can enable iCloud in Data and sync to keep supported records in your private iCloud storage. AI keys must be entered separately on each device. When you use AI, task-related content goes directly to your chosen provider.

Saved expressions, quoted passages and notes are preserved independently where available. Returning to a removed source may no longer be possible. You can manage or remove the learning records separately.

Alongside explaining passages, the assistant can research, browse websites, organize notes and use memories and personal skills when requested. View skills and memories in Me, or ask the assistant to create or edit your own skill. Take over the browser when a site needs your input, then return control. Stop ends further work without undoing saved changes. Interrupted tasks can be continued from their record.

Include your app version, iPhone model, steps to reproduce and any necessary screenshots. Do not send API keys or unnecessary books and private notes.
