Scope
This notice covers Stillwhy and this help website. Stillwhy supports book and feed reading, language learning, notes and AI assistant tasks, including requested browsing, attachments, organization and personal skills. There is no Stillwhy account system.
Your data stays yours
Stillwhy servers do not store your books, feeds, articles and images, word notes, notes, conversations, memories, personal skills or reading progress. This data stays on device. iCloud is off by default; when enabled, books, book reading positions and bookmarks, notes, vocabulary and feed addresses, including edits and deletions, sync through Apple to your private iCloud storage. Conversations, article caches, unsaved lookups, memories, personal skills and execution history are not part of in-app sync. Notes and vocabulary retain necessary source excerpts. System device backups may also retain app data according to your settings.
Your AI key
Your key is saved only on this device and used to authenticate directly with your chosen AI provider. It is not uploaded to Stillwhy servers, synced to iCloud or included in exported backups. You will need to enter it again on a new device.
AI requests and permission
Connecting and using an AI service allows it to process content relevant to your requests. Lookup, translation, note organization and assistant tasks may send passages, images, attachments, web content, notes, memories, skill instructions, conversation history and summaries. Material retrieved from other books or feeds may also enter the request. Card enrichment and conversation summaries continue initiated tasks. Requests go directly to your configured service, not through Stillwhy servers; ordinary reading does not automatically send whole books to AI.
Your provider and choices
Requests go directly to the service address you configure. Each provider controls its processing, retention, processing regions and training policies; review them before connecting. You can choose not to connect AI, or remove a service and its stored key in Settings to stop future requests. Removing a service cannot recall data already sent; contact the provider about deletion of its retained data.
Voice and resource downloads
Speech recognition and pronunciation run on device. Recordings are temporary transcription inputs and are cleaned up after the task; they are not sent to AI. A submitted question sends the transcribed text as described above. Microphone use requires system permission. Voice resources work offline once downloaded. The download service handles necessary network information such as IP address, time and resource path. Downloads do not send your books, notes or AI keys.
Feeds and external sites
Feed refreshes, image loading and browsing tasks connect to their publishers and content hosts, which may receive IP addresses and request information under their own policies. Manually opening an external link requires confirmation; the assistant can browse for tasks you initiate. Sign-in state from browser takeover stays in a dedicated on-device browser, does not read Safari sessions and is not shared through Stillwhy library sync. After control returns, task-relevant page text and images may be sent to your chosen AI service. Feed URLs may contain private credentials; share them carefully.
Attachments, memory, skills and usage
Imported or shared attachments are first saved locally; relevant content enters AI requests when sent to the assistant. You can ask the assistant to remember, update or delete information, and manage memories and personal skills in Me. Personal skills are textual instructions and do not grant additional device permissions. Local usage statistics keep provider-reported token counts and similar usage information, not keys or message bodies, and are not part of library sync.
This website and support email
This website has no advertising or analytics scripts and does not require registration. Hosting and security services handle necessary network request information. If you voluntarily email support, the contact receives your email address, message and attachments to respond and follow up. Only necessary support records are retained after resolution.
Control, deletion and retention
You can remove books, articles, word notes, saved expressions, notes, conversations, memories, personal skills and AI services. Removing a source does not necessarily delete independent learning records. With iCloud enabled, supported deletions sync to other devices; disabling sync does not erase existing iCloud data. Stopping a task prevents further work but does not undo completed changes or sent requests. Uninstalling does not delete iCloud data, system backups, exported files or data already received by providers; manage these separately.
Security, contact and changes
Use trusted AI services and protect your device, keys and backups. For questions, corrections or deletion of information provided through support email, contact the address below. This notice will change when relevant features or data handling change; new processing requiring permission will be presented separately.
